Side Projects
OK, I’m going to give up on the whole blogging as Nergon thing. I’m no good at it, my real life keeps creeping in. So forget Nergon. I’m Keefe. This is Keefe. There, now that that’s settled, let’s move on.
I’m uploading a strip that’s not Stranger Things today. Why? Because I’ve been working on a project at work that’s taken a big toll on me stress-wise and I’ve been getting home around 7:30-8:00ish. Last night I totally forgot I needed a cartoon up here until 10:00. And by then it was too late.
So, today I bring you a little slice of a side project I started last fall and then shelved. It had a working title of “Vinyl Harbor” but I wasn’t really happy with that and even now I’m still trying to come up with something better. I did 4 or 5 of these (this is the only one I hadn’t colored yet) and written some plotlines out and had several more ideas, but I wasn’t ready to give up on Stranger Things just yet. Lately I’ve been feeling less than satisfied with Stranger Things, so that’s when all the other ideas come out again. I’ve had so many ideas for strips, this is just one of them that had me sidetracked last year. I had one more I was pretty high on for awhile and several smaller ideas that I just toyed around with in my head. This is my problem. Too many ideas for different strips.
So here is the first Vinyl Harbor strip I did. Let me know what you think. I still think that if I ever started doing Flash animated cartoons for the web, this is the theme I would probably go with. I had 3 characters, this brother and sister duo who opened the record store and then they had one other guy that they hired and he has shown up in a couple of Stranger Things strips since then cuz I jus think he looks cool. Maybe I’ll show you a couple more of these before I go back to the blue brother story. I dunno. I’m sort of open to doing different things right now.
Sometimes I think I just over-analize and try too hard. Relaaaaax, man, relaaaax.

Cute. How about “Vinyl Confessions” like the Kansas album, or “Vinyl Countdown” like the stupid Europe song?
I like the premise, btw. and thanks for joining me for lunch yesterday!

I like the suggestions, Randall, and thank YOU for spotting me in the caffeteria and inviting me for a sit-down.
Brian - LOL, those are awesome…you have more ideas rolling around your noggin than I do!
