Bologna Surprise

Bologna is just one of the coolest words ever.

Poor Alan. Every time an outer space visitor lands on Earth, something goes all weird with his body. That’s gotta be rough. Oh well.

I’d love to put something profoundly interesting here, but…alas, I’m drawing a blank. Well I guess I drew on a blank… a blank sheet of bristol, that is. Ha…ha…ha….ok, I’m leaving now.

Have a happy Wednesday!

P.S. Speaking of Wednesday, anybody still watching Jericho? I have officially given up on it. A show about multiple nuclear bombs striking American soil and all they can talk about is who loves who. And golly gee, the local gas station is out of gas again. And oh no, the library’s on fire. I’d stick with it, but I think if I do I’ll be really sick and disgusted by the time I see the episode where they have to repaint the roads, but gosh dern it, the town’s out of ROAD PAINT! Somewhere Tom Clancy is shaking his head in misery. There was a story there…and there it went…

Still hanging in there with Heroes, though. But the non-politician brother is really wearing on me. I swear that guy went to the Keanu Reeves School For Kids Who Can’t Act Good. After all this time the dood still thinks he can fly…hello, Mr. Rogue, haven’t you been paying attention? Ugh.

Well I guess I did have something to say..excuse my ranting. Have a happy Wednesday anyway. :D

i still LOVE jericho. its got to have a personal touch, character development, you know the whole shebang. its not a shoot em up war movie, its a hometown in the midst of a changing world where noone knows for sure whats going to happen next. dont give up yet!

Leave it to Brian to make sense out of it for me….OK, I’ll watch this week’s episode and see what’s going on. I missed last week’s tho.

You know what I think it is that has me all negative about this… I LOVE 24 and Lost, they are 2 of my 3 favorite TV shows. But both of them are intense adult dramas where the plot moves very slow. 24 has the advantage of never running reruns during its season, so it doesn’t hurt so bad to be given very little information in an episode AND 24’s plot wraps up every season. PLUS they are wise enough to pretty well wrap up the season pilot’s plot mid-way thru the season and then put a new spin on it somehow. They manage to do this every year. Meanwhile Lost fans still have trouble understanding what happened in season one while we’re continually being tortured by the slow leak of new info regarding events in seasons 2 and 3.

This type of show gets tiresome.

And then the 2006 Fall shows start and we have 3 new shows that my wife and I have started watching that all take a lesson from the slow-moving, intense adult drama. Heroes, Jericho, and The Nine. And holy cow it begins to really wear on the patience of the viewer. I find myself now drawn more to shows like The Unit, Standoff, or Bones where very little gets carried over from epidose to episode. Everything you need to know, you know by the end of the hour.

    I think that’s what’s bothering me.
