Resolutions
I used to refuse to make New Year’s resolutions because I figured I was very unlikely to keep them all year anyway. But in the last few days that old Socrates quote has popped into my head and I think it really is relevant to this subject. And I think there is truth to it. Especially as a Christian man, I need to continually examine myself to make sure my motives, thoughts, and goals are in Harmony with Christ’s. So, this year, I think it’s important to come up with some resolutions and make a real effort to make them work.
Anyone got any good ones this year?

Part of the message this Sunday was on exactly that topic and our pastor came to the conclusion that the best resolutions are not things that we should make that we think will make US happy, but what would make God happy. We should prayerfully consider what resolutions God would have us make, or the resolutions we think He would make for us.
I for one would like to resolve to spend more time with Him, whether it be the in the Word, prayer (=talking with God), meditation, etc.

Good ones, Chris! Exercising is one of mine, too… I recently re-started my WoW subscription, so we should group up with Kerry and do sumpin sometime.
Sounds like a great sermon, Randall. That’s a great way to think of resolutions. My number one was “strategize with God”. I do a daily Bible reading, but now it’s time to take it further and I thought that was kind of a cool way to put it. Spend more time talking to him, examining my life and taking action to make the proper changes. And looking for spiritual opportunities…

Still waiting on “Year one: The human experience” for the first year of Stranger Things. I can take it in hard back, paperback, or if you prefer, .ipg file. - gonna get my office hooked
Yea, My talks with God happen from time to time every day. But in that aspect I feel pretty good on my direction. (Granted I couldn’t cast the first stone at anything) But I can say I hope to be a bit more involved in the community through my Lodge and “soon to locate” church.
