I have a copy of one of the first Duck Tales signed by Cark Barks. (Kerry now has it with his comic collection) I'm sure it's in pretty good condition.

Yep, I used to read those as a kid, too. Whenever I got sick and had to stay home from school my Dad would pick me up some Disney comics. Uncle Scrooge rocks, man. Diving into his money vault...trying to keep out the jailbird doods. Good times, good times.

I have a pretty cool Dad. He used to even take me to arcades after school and play Ms. Pac Man. Back in the early 80s when the news channels were all abuzz over kids skipping school to hang at the arcades, my Dad was taking me to them. :D What a guy!

Actually, yeah! For the most part I really love Star Wars comics. Even when I wasn't a regular reader of comics I would very occasionally pick up a Star Wars comic. When I was a teenager and my friends were reading Batman and X-Men, I was mostly oblivious to superhero comics (though I did go through a Batman phase during the "Death in the Family" storyline) and I read non-capes stuff like G.I. Joe, then much later the Dark Horse Star Wars titles. Recently I picked up a TPB of "Knights of the Old Repbulic" and totally inhaled it. Loved it. Can't wait for volume 2 to come out. It's supposed to take place before the events of the computer game and set some of those characters up a bit. Also, I've picked up Dark Times issues 1 and 2, but this is a book that comes out rarely, so not much has happened yet. Good stuff tho.

Have you gotten into any of the Star Wars comics? I have read pretty close to all the books since the movies and there are a few series of comics that fill in gaps in between the books. Just wondering if you knew anything about that?

Yeah, in fact Joss Whedon is also writing a series called "Runaways" and the first issue written by him hits the stands today. I dont' know if this means that he's going to stop writing Astonishing X-Men or not. I guess it depends on how busy and how prolific he is. Some authors seem to be able to write all sorts of books all at once. Brian Michael Bendis has his name all over the place right now with CIvil War: The Initiative and Ultimate Spider-Man. But from what I understand, he is quitting Ultimate Spider-Man effective very soon. There have also been some Serenity comics. I bought one paperback collection and thought it was really well done. Hope they continue with those.

Yes we definitely need to go to the comic store! I gotta meet my wife today at lunch though so I can get the car from her... Should we plan to do it next week?

Man, the "X-Men" History is awsome. but reads like one of our laws to the untrained ear. lol But when you make as much $ as Marvel, you can do what you want.
Great toon.
