Relationships are Complicated
A nudder oldie but kinda goodie. This actually comes after a rather long series that introduced a character named Abby. But I can’t stand to look at those strips these days. I hate the way I drew them. I hate the way they’re written. So I now pretend they never happened. So just pretend that you already know about a character name Abby and she doesn’t like Alan. Not that you really needed to know that for the strip to work…
As many of you know, old-school cartoonist guru Johnny Hart passed away this past Saturday April 7th actually while at his drawing table according to the story I read this weekend. I was never a huge fan of B.C. and as a cartoonist am not influenced at all by Johnny Hart, but I did really respect him. Especially for the annual Easter poems. He may not have been edgy like a modern webcartoonist, he may not have been fall-out-of-your-chair-funny every time, but he was one of the pre-internet age pillars of the art. In the papers as long as I’ve been alive, I’m sure. His material was great for people of all ages, and was funny at times, clever other times, touching occasionally, but always classy and talented. So may he rest in peace and may his legacy continue to influence young artists in the ages to come.

******Update******
I’m shutting off the forum for now. Just wanted to let everyone know. I pretty much never use it, it’s version is outdated, and I get TONS of email everyday about new accounts, 99.9% of which are bots or people who just want to post useless spam. It’s pretty much not needed right now and the cost in maintenance time is not worthwhile. If ever there are a lot of regular readers kind enough to repeatedly spend a few minutes of their time here and they voice a common request for a forum, then I will update it, clean up the membership and start it over. So for now, all that I have to say will be said in the blog posts and I hope that’s okay with you guys to post your thoughts as comments there. Cheers and I hope you all continue to enjoy the site. I have more changes in mind, but I’ll get to those later.

Another Great one passing, the way a cartoonist should, in the middle of a toon. But Charles M. Schulz passed the best way. On the morning of his last published toon. Yea. Goes to show, cartoons come from the heart.
Man, I really need to get caught up on mine. Times-a-tickin’

Yes, I totally agree with both of you. No better way for a cartoonists to go than at the table or on the day your final strip is printed. Very poetic. He was a Christian man who wasn’t shy about showing it in the papers AND he was a master of his craft. 2 extremely respectable qualities.

Ahhh no fourm, I guess I see your point. Like our WoW guild site, I tend to be the only one useing it. So why do we have it? I guss if I wanted to start a “real” blog I would build my own fourm and not use everyone else.
Until they shut down the guild site I’ll use it to post things, and when that goes down, I guess there still is the Public Restrooms. At least I think people read it there.
