Eric Carmen’s Hungry For Eyes
Weird title, but Eric Carmen’s song “Hungry Eyes” was all I could think about after reading this toon from my archive disc. :) One of my grosser toons…the sick and twisted ones tend to be my favorites.
Well, I apologize for the lateness of the post, but last night while we were watching THE most intense episode of The Unit thus far, our cable cut out with like 5 minutes left. So just when Mr. Brown was talking to the spook, I don’t get to find out what he says or what the big ending to this huge turn of events is…. Hope I can find the episode on the network’s site this week. Not sure if they do that for The Unit.
So our cable came back on sometime during the night, but with my crazy morning routine I only had time to upload the comic before heading out the door. Poor cable guy. I could still see his flashing lights from his truck about a block down the road when I went to bed at 1…
One thing I neglected to mention about Spider-Man 3 that I really loved - and this is NOT a spoiler - was how much Sam Raimi’s personality shone through. Here we have this HUUUUGE blockbuster. An amount of money greater than any a director has ever had at his disposal. I think most directors coming from a similar creative background as Mr. Raimi would have been intimidated into making a straight-up action film with all gloss and action. And they probably would have been too scared to let any real personal touch show at all. But not this time. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about some silliness in the movie, and if you’ve seen it, you know exactly what I’m talking about. In Spider-Man 2, it was the “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” part. That is totally Sam Raimi’s sense of humor shining through. And in a huge summer blockbuster, I love that he’s not afraid to dabble moments like that around and leave his signature. Even when he’s given 260 million dollars, he hasn’t forgotten to have fun.
I decided that before Carissa and I go to Spider-Man 3 on our date night Friday, she needs to see “Army of Darkness”. I’m ashamed as a husband that I’ve never rented that for her in the past, but now it has become neccessary in order for her to be able to fully appreciate Spider-Man 3 and not be turned off by its whacky moments. We’ll see if the strategy works.
Happy Wednesday, all.

Ask Kerry about the Unit, I don’t know if deleted it already but we watched it last night after the kids were in bed. He can at least tell you what happened in the last 5 minutes. I would tell you, but I was half paying attention to the show and half asleep from being sick. lol

It was soooo good. I can not wait to see how they wrap this up.

Well, thanks, Katrina, I may have to ask Kerry for a run-down. All I remember is Jonas getting to his spot and getting setup with a business from the underground organization that apparently protects soldiers when the U.S. government is about to lay the smack down on them. His wife got the note, then the picture started going all weird and there was no audio. I saw Bob Brown talking to the new CIA dude, then the old CIA dude got out of the car and they spoke and the credits rolled. And man I wish I knew what was going down. That was a great episode. At least what I saw.
I love the old CIA dude, BTW. When he first appeared a couple episodes back, he started rattling off all this historical information and it was EXACTLY like his character was introduced in the X-Files episode he was in. He was a magician at this carnival area and started rattling off this historical account of the greatest magic trick ever attempted. And then he turned his head all the way around and later it fell off. Now that’s good TV!

The only thing I remember is Bob talking to the old CIA dude about his first assignment, which is to find Jonas. Bob wanted to know what would happen if he couldn’t find him, and the CIA guy told him he would join his friends in jail. I think that was the end.
