Way Back
We were talking about old-school Stranger Things in the last post. This one is seriously old-school. This is several years old and goes back so far that I don’t even have a vector scan of it like I have done routinely for all my comics since 2003. So unfortunately, I had to keep it at its original resolution and couldn’t blow it up to what is normal for this page. Hope it still looks OK. I kind of like it. :)
This character is one I made up in high school. Named him Pencilneck Harris. I was a weird kid in high school.
Well, in things totally unrelated to math or weird-lookin kids, there’s a DS game releasing this week that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Marvel Trading Card Game. This is the VS System transcribed to DS (also available for PC and PSP) which means wireless play between myself and my daughter or internet play over wi-fi. Sa-weet!! Korina and I have played VS cards for a couple years now. Both of us being fans of comics, it’s kind of a natural thing. :) We bought an X-Men 2-player set, a Batman one, and got some extra boosters. She usually plays the villains and I play the good guys. And she regularly clobbers me. So I can’t wait to get more practice on the DS and have my revenge. Its release date was Tuesday, so naturally it won’t show up in stores for a few more days. HOWEVER, in order to get my fix in early, I found this free PC client download where you can play the game on your PC fo free. The catch is that you start out with either a heroes or villains starter deck and have no control over building a custom deck. If you want more cards to choose from, you have to buy them. The game you can purchase in the stores has all of the cards included up until the X-Men expansion and you “buy” cards by playing the single player mode to earn points. So that sounds much cooler, but the free client can teach you how to play and is quite entertaining. You might like to give it a try.
Well, happy Wednesday!

So is this one of Alan’s nephews?

Actually, this kid is not related to Alan at all. In the Sherpa strips, this guy was the son of Eddie who was in charge of the moon colony. Oh boy. That sounds really stupid doesn’t it. But that’s what my comic was about back in the Sherpa days…
