The Free Man
I just finished playing through Half-Life 2 for the fourth time this weekend. Love that game. Can’t wait until HL2 Episode 2 comes out later this year. At least we’re crossing our fingers and hoping that Valve can make the date this time. Once a game has been delayed three or four times, you like to think that they’re actually getting close to releasing it. PLUS, the big news with episode 2 is that it’s also going to include Team Fortress 2. This is the game that’s been promised since when? At least 1999. It was going to be the first FPS with actual built-in VOIP. So…it’s been awhile… We’d pretty much assumed it had gone the way of “Duke Nukem Forever” (or “Secret of Vulcan Fury” or “Warcraft Adventures“) and would never see the light of day. But alas, it comes and the screen shots look fantastic. They’ve gone for kind of a cartoony, “Incredibles” look for the graphics. Take a look if you’re curious. I think it will be a lot of fun. But of course, I myself just look forward to hearing a Vortigon call me “the free man” once again as I hold that crowbar in my hand.
Until then…Happy Monday.Â

I have had an idea for a movie for a while now. Since Hollywood is on a kick recently with making video games and comicbooks into films, I think they should make a Half-life flick. I think the origional 3 installments can all be brought together into one movie that switches between the perspectives of Gordon Freemen, Shepherd (the Army guy), and security guard Barney as they fight their way out of the BLack Mesa Research Facility and encounter all manner of aliens and of course the guy in the suit! Someone should do this.
