Darren Barefoot Liked My Cartoon!
September 12th, 2007Dawn Douglass sent me this link this morning in email. Darren Barefoot posted a blog entry about Gnomedex 2007 and, along with videos of his presentation (which was one of the best, I thought), he posts and mentions my cartoon of him. Of course, like most of my toons from those 2 days, Dawn fed me the idea, so I can’t take all the credit.Â
This just reminds me of how much I enjoyed this conference. After I got home it just struck me how odd a thing it is to be flown to a geek convention (and believe me, I fit that description myself) for the sole purpose of drawing cartoons. For 2 days in a row I sat in the back of a conference room drawing cartoons about the presentations given. How weird is that. And it fit me like a glove. It wasn’t taxing in any way, it wasn’t weird, it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was perfect for me and I loved it. So I guess I’m a strange one….
Anyway, glad Mr. Barefoot liked the toon, and I hope other presenters enjoyed theirs as well. Their presentations inspired me and the whole experience really changed my outlook on life.

You can’t take “all the credit?” Then why does it annoy me that you don’t get any credit on his site at all? “Some folks?” Thanks to “Myfridj?” How wude!

Well I really don’t think it’s a case of him being rude at all. The cartoons are up on the MyFridj Flickr site and I don’t know if my name is even on any of them. Which is no big deal anyway since I was there representing MyFridj. No worries, it’s all good! It was a great compliment that he said he liked it and included it in his post.

Keefe, I put your name on all the cartoons when I uploaded them.
Glad you enjoyed Gnomedex. Thanks again for going and doing such a good job.
