Cheesiest Love Songs Ever

February 8th, 2008

Thanks to Brian for the heads-up to this playlist consisting of only the sappiest of cheese.

I have to reject the inclusion of “I Want To Know What Love Is” by Foreigner.  Nope, not cheese.  That there is just good, good stuff.

But most of this is right on.  And embarrassing.  Cuz…I really like “Faithfully”…  :’(

Fun read.  Happy Friday!  :D

    every rose has its thorn…

thats 100% classic! if its cheese its like velveeta, not really cheese but can be easily confused with cheese.

Ya know, I have to say this about cheesy love songs: it all depends on whom you are with at the time. In other words, if you are single my guess is they are pretty much all cheesy. If you are with someone and even if the type or genre of the particular song might not be to your particular musical inclination, but they like the song, you tend to hear it differently. Perhaps you are hearing through their ears so to speak. All of this to say as an excuse that in retrospect most of these are high on the cheese-o-meter (I have to agree with Keefe on the Foreigner opinion though ;) ), but there are a couple that I liked at the time (my DW happened to be a Chris De Burgh fan…). Of course there have been some that she has liked that I have just gone “ewwww.’

Excellent point, I think you’re right. There is definitely some difference of perspective.

I did like quite a few of these at the time they were popular… The 80s ones anyway. But come on, who had good judgement in the 80s?? Cant we just accept a blanket policy of amnesty for each other?
