I went to the 10:30 tonight. :D

I really enjoyed it too. And actually Shia was not bad. I still think that George Lucas directing and Shia as the lead character is a bad idea. But this go around was fun.

too gracious for liking him? I was a fan of Even Stevens, thought he rocked in Holes, and also enjoyed him in Transformers. sometimes its ok to not over do it with the critiques and just enjoy what someone has to offer. :)

You all are just too gracious ;). IMO Shia hasn't done anything decent since Holes. He comes across as a wimpy milquetoast, even in Transformers, who's only claim to bad-boy fame is refusing to leave when Walgreens wanted to close for the night. I mean c'mon! (I think there's a comic in there somewhere Keefe). Of course Indy's out today and I could be proven wrong and it wouldn't be the first time!

OK, Randall's right, George shouldn't write movies either. I just figured if he wrote it and left the directing to someone else, that person would probably change up stupid lines like that one and make it go over better...

I don't hate Shia. I don't mind him in the movies I've seen him in. But he really is not suitable to become the next Indiana Jones character. I don't know who is, probably nobody. I just think that this formula, George writing a new Indy series, Shia as the lead role, in the light of episodes 1-3...not shaping up too well. I would really hate to see the only other great George Lucas property get ruined.

Now that's not to say I'm not excited about Indy 4. I am. Steven's involved and I hope he has been enough to keep it feeling like classic Indy, but if George is at the helm in the future, I'm out.

From the man who brought us the following dialog is it any surprise that he is clueless when it comes to character strengths?: "From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you. And now that I'm with you again... I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you- I can't breath. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating... hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me... what can I do?- I will do anything you ask. ... if you are suffering as much as I am, PLEASE, tell me."

Ok, ok, ok, I'll tell you. This entire scene left me in agony! I was just watching IJ:ROTLA with the kids this weekend commenting on how obvious it was that Mr. L had Mr. S to help him with such things as character development and dialog. I would boycott any Indy film staring She-ah wheresthebeef.
