Ode to a Civ

What with the new Civilization for PS3 and 360 hitting the store shelves yesterday, I felt somewhat inspired to do a Civ toon.  I’ve been a Civ enthusiast since Civilization 2.  And the idea of playing it on my PS3 and TV is extremely compelling.  :D  Bring on the nukes….

Wish it was in the Wii. It would be CivWii

Yeah they kind of made some strange choices on platforms. 360, PS3 and DS. Why not PSP and why not Wii? If they can scale the graphics back enough for DS in favor of using the stylus on a handheld, then why not scale the graphics back enough to use the motion controls on the Wii for unit selection and movement? After all Wii is the hot console anyway. And the graphics are cartoony. Seems like a natural fit. And boy howdy, would I love to have Civ on my PSP. I’d be set for life.

I love Civ. Maybe SimCity was the original game that started the simulation game craze, but Civ was an incredible step forward forming the basis of so many other games.
And since when is a nuke cheating???

Only when it’s played against me!

    i never liked civ

The nuke isn’t cheating, but there have been ways to unlock end-game technologies right away in the PC versions of Civ. So I tried to show that with the big unit upgrades staring each other down as if the player is making major leaps in combat units very quickly.
